The History of Idiocy is a collection of some of the greatest moments of the last 6 years of Dumbass' decade-plus career.

The History of Idiocy brings you twenty nine tracks of the best of Dumbass on two discs. Spanning the last six years of Dumbass' fourteen year career, this collection presents the listener with Dumbass at their strange and beautiful best. From live performances, experiments with space and time, computer programming to pounding on rocks, and sitting at a piano, The History of Idiocy runs the gamut of recording techniques and musical styles.

This collection brings together some of the best songs from the years 2002-2008, easily the band's most fertile and boundary pushing period. The songs contained in this collection travel across the spectrum from noise experiments to hard, loud industrial music, to melodic love songs. These are not only the best songs of this period, but in many cases, the best songs of Dumbass' entire career.

This Sunday Dumbass will be releasing The History Of Idiocy.. The Best of 2002-2008, a two disc compilaiton of very cool songs.

New Vates Mortis Release

This Monday the new Vates Mortis collection of b-sides and remixes will be available in the Trash Records Store, where you can also pick up the new Pin single and the Dumbass Modernity DVD. Vates Mortis will also have select tracks from the collection available for download on their homepage and myspace page.

As you may have noticed the Trash Records Store is now back online (click on Purchse at www.trashrecords.org or go straight to store.trashrecords.org ). And, as you also may have noticed, the new Pin single is available for purchase at said Trash Records Store, and is available as a free MP3 download at the pin homepage @ www.trashrecords.org/pin ). New Pin Single

Mercator Projection, the new single from Pin will be available this friday. The single includes previously unreleased tracks, remixes (by YPC and Pin), and will be available as free MP3 downloads from the Pin homepage and as a physical CD from the Trash Records Store, which will go back online in a new form on Friday as well.

New Dumbass Release - Modernity DVD

The Dumbass modernity DVD is now available.
You can watch the film on the Dumbass homepage at www.dumbassmusic.com
And you will be able to order the dvd itself when the Trash Records store relaunches (more info on that soon!).

New Vates Mortis Homepage

Vates Mortis have updated their homepage @ www.trashrecords.org/vatesmortis in anticipation of the release of their new collection of b-sides, remixes, and rarities. Look for the collection in late September / early October. More details will follow.

Video Back Online

The film section of the Trash Records homepage now has videos online again. We're in the process of fleshing out the new Trash Records homepage at the moment. More content will come online in the next couple of weeks as well as information about fall releases.

Short films are online now. Music videos will follow soon.

There is a new Trash Records Webzine online.

This issue includes interviews with Pin & Dumbass as well as short prose, Trash Records music news and more.

Continuing with the celebration of 10 years of Trash Records, we've given www.trashrecords.org a facelift. We've shed a lot of excess baggage and streamlined the site considerably.

Look for much more content in the next few weeks and months, including news from: Pin, Dumbass, Vates Mortis, and more.

10 Years of Trash

Trash Records turns 10 years old in 2008. It began as a way to distribute and promote Dumbass and various side projects.
It has turned into a place where independent art in a wide range of media is spread around the world.
Our collaborators and contributors are a very, very cool bunch of people, and I would like to thank them.
I would also like to thank those who support and tune in, whether they be interested in music, reading, watching, looking, or whatever.

Its been an interesting ride.
